Big Boss Aces and Ates
This coffee stout is a limited release from Big Boss in Raleigh, this particular bomber being #2111/5000. The beer pours a thick head, but quickly evaporates. The smell off the bat is of dark, roasted coffee, and the taste does not disappoint. As you would expect, the beer tastes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The beer is actually brewed with Larry's Beans from Raleigh, and you can taste the freshness. The stout finishes with a bitter aftertaste, and is a complex and satisfying beer. At 8% ABV, this is smooth stout is one to be enjoyed. Pick one up at your local beer shop if it can be found, this one was found at Earth Fare in Brier Creek.
